Letters and Opinions

These are opinion pieces that I have had published in a variety of newspapers and magazines. I have been writing letters-to-the-editor since 2006, and have had over 160 published since then. I also play guitar and sing in a musical revue called The Loser's Lounge. With a cast of guest singers, we perform tributes to great songwriters and bands. The show is in its 24th year, and we perform at Joe's Pub - The Public Theater and Lincoln Center in New York City.

On the same day that I had letters published in amNY and Metro (August 26, 2008), the Daily News printed this McCain joke. It's under the heading, "Homebound."

This letter was printed in both amNY and Metro on August 26, 2008. That evening, I received an anonymous message on our home answering machine from a woman who obviously didn't get the punchline. She said, "John Kerry is a Democrat. McCain is a Republican. He couldn't be vice president. (click)" She must not have been aware that Joe Biden recommended McCain as a potential VP for Kerry in 2004.

My first letter in the New York Times was published on August 12, 2008 while my family was on vacation in Cape Cod.

amNY published this letter on August 7, 2008.
