Letters and Opinions

These are opinion pieces that I have had published in a variety of newspapers and magazines. I have been writing letters-to-the-editor since 2006, and have had over 160 published since then. I also play guitar and sing in a musical revue called The Loser's Lounge. With a cast of guest singers, we perform tributes to great songwriters and bands. The show is in its 24th year, and we perform at Joe's Pub - The Public Theater and Lincoln Center in New York City.

Sometimes our legal system fails us. I pointed out this missed opportunity in amNY on April 23, 2009.

I'm disappointed in the ruling denying Rod Blagojevich permission to fly to the jungles of Costa Rica and participate in a reality TV show. I was hoping the judge could have at least met the request halfway and allowed Blago a one way ticket.

On April 6, 2009, my sister celebrated a birthday and I had a letter published in amNY.
Re: First Lady's cardigan a fashion headache. I know the American culture of feminine beauty encourages the kind of fashion analysis that First Lady Michelle Obama undergoes regularly. But when it is still reported that many women earn less than their male counterparts, this dismissal of female intellect in favor of physical attributes only confirms why the disparity exists.
