Letters and Opinions

These are opinion pieces that I have had published in a variety of newspapers and magazines. I have been writing letters-to-the-editor since 2006, and have had over 160 published since then. I also play guitar and sing in a musical revue called The Loser's Lounge. With a cast of guest singers, we perform tributes to great songwriters and bands. The show is in its 24th year, and we perform at Joe's Pub - The Public Theater and Lincoln Center in New York City.

There's a fine line between 'art' and 'vulgarity' in some cases.

One can argue that a song of any format containing the 'n' word or the 'b' word etc is a form of artistic expression and free speech, another can argue that it's offensive. If it's deemed acceptable to sing and plug on airways, then why isn't it acceptable to use in any other format?

Ghandi's famously quoted as saying 'Be the change you want to see in the world.' It's something we should all keep in mind when living each day of our lives.

Hate is taught. Let's not teach it any more.
