Letters and Opinions

These are opinion pieces that I have had published in a variety of newspapers and magazines. I have been writing letters-to-the-editor since 2006, and have had over 160 published since then. I also play guitar and sing in a musical revue called The Loser's Lounge. With a cast of guest singers, we perform tributes to great songwriters and bands. The show is in its 24th year, and we perform at Joe's Pub - The Public Theater and Lincoln Center in New York City.

Unfortunately, Metro cut off the last sentence of this letter, which leaves it dangling in an odd way. The sentence also referenced Senator Clinton's mistaken memory of landing under sniper fire during a trip to Bosnia. This is the way it is meant to be read:

"Instead of comparing herself to Rocky, the Italian Stallion, Senator Hillary Clinton may have been better served by evoking Rocky, the Flying Squirrel. While the boxer relied on his brute strength to achieve his goals, the plucky squirrel persevered using intelligence, resourcefulness, and the occasional airborne stunt. And though the animated Rocky never landed under sniper fire, he did have a sidekick who fits in with the Clinton campaign - Billwinkle."

It was almost fully published on April 3, 2008.
